Persephone: A Flower Power remedy for reemergence.

Persephone's arrival marks the turning of the wheel, a great sigh after winter's grip, the chime of a clock - rise and shine! 

After all that dark. After all that cold. After everything that was lost, grieved, sat with, integrated. Spring has Sprung, and right on time!

As the Sun crosses the threshold of 0° Aries, we celebrate the Vernal Equinox & the astrological new year. This is the moment where light and dark are perfectly balanced. From here, light wins. The days grow longer. Yang rises. Yin recedes. The cycle turns.

That's Persephone energy.

In Greek mythology, Spring arrives when Persephone returns from the Underworld. There are many interpretations of this myth but my favourite has always been the narrative that empowered Persephone. She was not rescued. She was not tricked. She was not released.

She chose to return. She decided to eat the pomegranate seeds that would commit her to spending 6 months a year in the Underworld. She bound herself to both worlds deliberately. Not a prisoner of either but as a traveller between them.

This remedy is for you, if you've been going through it.

• For anyone who has done the grief work, sat in the dark, felt the feelings, carried the weight without numbing it or rushing it. You went to the underworld and that took courage most people will never see. This remedy is your round of applause.
  
  
• And for those of you still in the depths of Hades hell, where it feels impossible to imagine a Spring from where you're standing. This one is especially for you. Because Persephone didn't know when she'd return either. She just knew, somewhere underneath everything, that she would. This remedy is your light at the end of the tunnel.

And remember, Reemergence isn't forgetting what happened underground. It's proof you survived it. Persephone did not return as the maiden who descended. She returned as a Queen who knew both worlds.
